ANSTO stands for Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organization.

Beasy was engaged by the client to undertake the demolition and disposal of ANSTO Building 34A and associated auxillary structures, asbestos removal, and contaminated concrete disposal.

The structures that were demolished were two services huts and the main 1-storey brick building, including fume cupboards within. We also removed the asbestos discovered within the ceiling membranes in the building and within the concrete footings.

The demountable site shed was proposed to be demolished, but for cost savings for the client we decided to keep it for our use for other projects.

Being a nuclear research facility, we ensured that noise pollution and vibration levels were kept at a minimum whilst the centre remained operational.
